Are you a poet, musician, or vocalist who wishes to share your talents in a comfortable, no-pressure setting? Do you love listening to soothing music and reading beautiful poetry, specifically by artists who are unknown or underrated? Do you love hanging out with your friends while sipping a warm cup of tasty coffee? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then Open Mic Night is an event for you!

The senior AP Literature students have partnered up with the Sketch to host Open Mic Night for the students and faculty! This event will take place on Thursday, April 6 from 6:00pm–9:00pm in the Commons, and there is no charge. You are welcome to sing a song, play an instrument, read an original poem or short story, etc. Feel free to partake in any creative medium that allows you to share your talents with the community. No prior experience is necessary and people from all grade levels are welcome to perform and attend.

If you are interested in performing, please arrive approximately 30 minutes beforehand (5:30 pm), and you can sign up right there on the spot. The number of spots and order of performances is based on a first come, first serve basis. If you do not wish to perform, we encourage you to come support your friends and enjoy a fun and entertaining evening! Delicious Fair Trade coffee and food will be available throughout the night. All people are also invited to bring their copy of the Sketch, which will come out the morning of April 6th, to follow along with the writers featured in this year’s edition who will be performing at the event. Extra copies of the Sketch will also be available if you forget yours or did not receive one.

Again, please join us at Open Mic Night on April 6th for a night filled with music, poetry, caffeine, and good vibes! It will be a fantastic way to kick off Spring Break. If you have any additional questions, do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Julie Puckett ([email protected]).
