“Be where your feet are” – Anonymous

Since I came across these words on Twitter last year, I have tried to follow them. After putting some thought into what the words meant, I realized that this aphorism is basically saying to live in the moment, something I previously struggled with. Instead, I lived for the future, missing so much of value in the present. I realize that I can’t fast-forward the clock, but I can cherish this moment.

“You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world and there is still going to be someone who hates peaches.” – Dina Von Teese

Most people try to live their lives to please others no matter what. They try to be the best version of themselves that they can be: the smartest, friendliest, best-looking. However, there is always someone who is unimpressed or who even tries to bring others down. Regardless, you must keep being the best you can be. You cannot let one person change the way you act. Be yourself and keep doing you no matter what.

“Life might not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here, we should dance anyways.” – Anonymous

Sometimes life does not go the way that we hoped. As seniors, we look forward to being on our own, going to parties, and meeting new friends. In reality, things are going to be difficult and studies might be tougher than expected. We need to take advantage of the good things that happen in our lives: a random good morning text from a friend, a hug, a good grade. Life may not be a continual party, but it can be a continual celebration. So dance.
