Junior Andrew Phelps recently brought in a Cleveland Cavaliers 2016 Championship ring. Phelps’ father, Jeff Phelps, is an announcer for the Cleveland Cavaliers and was given the ring as a member of the winning franchise. When asked why he brought in the ring for the day, Phelps replied, “I had it because Mr. Dodds loves Cleveland sports, and one day he was kidding with me about bringing in the championship ring because he heard on the radio that my dad was getting one. People loved it and everyone wanted to touch it and wear it, but I only let Mr. Dodds wear it.” Senior Jessica Huth observed, “It was funny to see how big the ring was compared to our softball State Championship rings.” Because the ring means a great deal to the people of Northeast Ohio, seeing it made for a very special day for the Cavs fans at WJ.
