The Lady Warriors (10-6) took on St. Vincent-St Mary on October 12 for their last home game and Senior Night, winning in straight sets (25-19, 25-16, 25-20). The Warriors finished 8-2 in their conference and go into playoffs starting October 19.  Senior Night celebrated this milestone in the lives of these athletes as they looked back over the years together and all they accomplished as a team.

Senior libero Maryn Shinaberry exclaimed,“It was so fun playing with all the seniors who are also my best friends! It was an amazing moment playing one last game in the Dome.  We still have a long season ahead, and I am so excited to see how we perform in playoffs.”

Senior middle blocker Kelsey Kuczysnki stated,“There’s no other group of girls I would have rather started and finished in the Dome with, and I’m proud of what we left on the court.”

“It was so great to see all the emotion and happiness that seniors Kelsey Kuczynski, Jillian Reich, Virginia Natale, Nicole Yohman, Julia Waltz, and Maryn Shinaberry put out on the floor tonight.  It’s a bittersweet feeling to play your last match in the Dome, and they made the absolute most of it. They had a lot of fun together and that’s what it’s all about,” commented head coach Brad Seislove.

Assistant coach Kalyn Seislove added, “Senior Night brings back the raw joy and reason for why the girls play and love volleyball. The craziness of the season gets overwhelming, and watching the seniors go back to enjoying the game and playing together is one of the best things you can see as a coach.”

For these volleyball players, Senior Night was an amazing experience and proved to be a time of celebration for their time together as they look to a future away from Walsh Jesuit.
